London’s YASSASSIN will open Saturday’s festival and are sure to be a noisy start to the proceedings. Last year the band released ”Social Politics”, and later “Pretty Face“, which created a buzz around the 5-piece, their music combines rough alt-rock guitar play with big hooky choruses and spooky harmonies to boot. Later in April they will join Manchester’s post-punk outfit PINS and Danish rock trio Baby In Vain on their first tour of the U.K.
Reading band PALM HONEY have just released an incredible genre-crushing new E.P entitled “Tucked into the Electronic Wave“, produced by the multi-talented front man from Glasgow’s Catholic Action, Chris McCrory. Their sound spans from psych-rock to electronica with a sprinkle of jazz for good measure, its dreamy and thoughtful and the live show is bound to be unpredictable.
Oxford’s Willie J Healey will be present on the day and showcasing his stellar new release “Greys“, a beefed up version of a track we knew from his E.P “HD Malibu“. Expect enchanting pop songs in fuzzy, foot stomping jackets as well as some broken down atmospheric love songs talking about everyday me and everyday you. A real artist to dig your teeth into, get caught up in, and fall for.
Having toured with London big cheeses The Big Moon, Liverpool band Trudy and the Romance have cut a 50’s/ 60’s shaped hole in new music. Their releases have raw DIY ethos, that which Mac Demarco has made famous of late, yet they play fast paced 50’s inspired ramshackle rock ‘n’ roll. They now embark on a U.K tour stopping at Flying Vinyl Festival 08/04/17. Check out “Sandman” released late last year.
