“The Hangman” opens with a hypnotic bassline fit for a spanish cult horror flick from the 80’s, strange, relentless and unnerving.
The house of horrors psych-rock of “The Hangman” delves deeper and stranger into Psycho Comedy‘s sound, creating the knife-edge atmostpheric tension of The Cure, coupled with the ramshackle rock ‘n’ roll of The Black Lips. The latter providing a sonic reference for the relentless driving rock of previous release “One“.
The track files neatly with the scruffy industrial guitars of south Londoners Fat White Family with the bold electricity of Yak, vocally somewhere amounst the raw crazy of The Birthday Party era Nick Cave with a clenched fist full of Iggy Pop himself.
The track is released through legendary Liverpool label Deltasonic records.
