SOUNDS QUITE LIKE: PIXX// ST VINCENT// THE KILLS
Originally spotted by The National playing in a basement, presumably in Brooklyn, the duo were signed to NYC artist-led indie label Brassland Records, who were also responsible for releasing The National‘s debut record.
The Brooklyn duo consist of Arone Dyer on the “buke” (a self-modified six-string former baritone ukulele) and Aron Sanchez on the “gase” (a guitar-bass hybrid of his own creation).
Buke and Gase recently supported The National on an eight-date European tour stretching from Lisbon to Stockholm in support of their three-track E.P ‘Arone vs Aron‘.
They also have a sick, super trippy cover of New Order‘s ‘Blue Monday’. Listen!
