London duo Otzeki unveil a taster from their upcoming debut record in the form of ‘Angry Fix’, the LP is due April 13th.
In two weeks (13/04) London-based duo Otzeki will release their debut record entitled ‘Binary Childhood‘. The latest preview from their full-length is ‘Angry Fix‘, three minutes twenty one seconds of introspective lyricism, chopped electronic textures and dreamy left-field electro-pop.
It was April last year when I sat down with Otzeki at Omeara before their show for Phil Taggart’s Slacker night, at the time they spoke of “informing the live performance with the experimental nature of the music” and “trying to find different ways of making things a journey”, almost a year on and true to their vision, they are on the cusp of something special and have come along way in realising what that journey had in store. Their self-curated three-date residency at Electrowerkz, tours through mainland Europe, and a trip to SXSW festival will have done a lot to expose their music to a new audience. They have also announced a show at Berlin institution Berghain for April in what is a real marker on what impact they have made overseas. They will play an album launch show at Rough Trade East on April 11th before setting off on a tour through the U.K and Europe.
