NYC’s best new post-punk export BODEGA hit hard on their second single ‘Can’t Knock the Hustle’ ahead of shows on British soil.
New York City’s best new export, the politically charged post-punk five-piece BODEGA release their second single Can’t Knock the Hustle. The track follows on from debut release How Did This Happen!? a straight up bass-driven slice of heavenly post-punk dripping with modern NYC influences. The bands debut cut is as refreshing as it is relevant, full of pent-up rage, hard-hitting guitars and drawing influence from modern day disillusionment.
A perfect debut is impossible to follow up, or is it? Welcome in 1:43 seconds of pocket post-punk in the exquisitely named Can’t Knock the Hustle. It’s short, sharp and socially conscious and most of all fucking exciting. Both tracks will no doubt feature on the bands full-length debut Endless Scroll, released June 1st through New York indie label What’s Your Rupture? Records, the guys who brought us releases by Parquet Courts, Iceage and Royal Headache.
