Sink Ya Teeth – ‘Substitutes’ – Haunting dancefloor-punk.

Norwich duo Sink Ya Teeth unveil ‘Substitutes’ taken from their debut record due 22nd June on Hey Buffalo.

Substitutes is the follow up to February single Pushinwhich is released alongside the announcement of a UK tour in support of the bands debut LP.

Substitutes is underlined by tense and shimmering synth textures that give the track a feeling of driving urgency. Snaking beside it is a menacing bassline which creates a frenzied energy  allowing for the ghostly vocals to pick their punches. The song breaks into a post-punk fury, then almost immediately continues with it’s driving rhythm, allowing the haunting lyrics to sting the listener. “We might fall through, we might be substitutes“.

In this discomforting 3 minutes of dancefloor-punk energy, Sink Ya Teeth show their promise in creating thought-provoking electronic music and their debut record will be something everybody should look out for.
