NEW MUSIC: Sink Ya Teeth – ‘The Hot House’.

Striving for unity in the face of division, Sink Ya Teeth return with the melancholic groove of ‘The Hot House’.

Sink Ya Teeth have unveiled plans for the release of their highly anticipated second LP, ‘Two’ will be released on February 28th 2020 via Hey Buffalo Records. ‘The Hot House’, the Norfolk DIY-dance duo’s first single, is released ahead of a run of tour dates starting with a headline show at The Lexington in London as part of our Hard Of Hearing presents series. Tickets links can be found below.

‘The Hot House’ embraces the dark side of dance music and is underlined by groove-devoted bass lines which encapsulate the duo’s love of late 70’s post-punk. Shuddering electronic textures are bent to the will of a drum machine using the power of repetition to ease you into a warm trance-like state. The smooth and euphoric vocal delivery of Maria Uzor steps slightly in the distance providing a haze of swirling time and memory to wash over you.

The band add, “There’s a lot of polarisation in the world at the moment. The lyrics are about striving for unity in the face of that division. And having a good time while we do it.”

After recording sessions for BBC’s Maida Vale and KEXP in France, the band were handpicked to headline Pohoda Festival to 30,000 in Slovakia this summer after Lykke Li pulled out at the last minute, so I suppose this makes the band’s upcoming London date an intimate one.
