Modern Woman have unleashed their latest blend of progressive folk-rock in the form of new single ‘Ford’, picking up from where they left off with 2021’s debut EP ‘Dogs Fighting In My Dreams.’ The quartet, spearheaded by vocalist Sophie Harris, continue to expand upon their combative post-punk and folk-rock influences.
‘Ford’ opens with the beating of tom drums, joined by a low-slung bass groove and soon after an angular guitar melody that creates an eerie, brooding atmosphere which Harris’ vocal delivery thrives within – ranging from enchanting folk melodies to high-pitched shrieks and cries.
The latest single is accompanied by a music video which sees the London outfit driving and dancing their way through the Cambridgeshire countryside, and is directed by Sandra Ebert. Modern Woman played Latitude Festival last week and join the bill at End Of The Road in September, as well as supporting TV Priest throughout their UK tour.
