PREMIERE: Strange Cages – ‘Glitter & Ash’.

Brighton’s psych-sons Strange Cages show a different side on their devastating new single.

Cut from their debut album ‘Pop Therapy’ which arrives September 13th, Strange Cages share ‘Glitter & Ash’, the second single to be taken from their upcoming record. The release comes in collaboration with psych-rock connoisseurs Acid Box.

On their new single, Strange Cages have stepped on the brakes for a second, the result is a devastatingly introspective 6 minute psych-rock slow dance. Shelving the raucous psych-filled garage rock on which the band have made their name, ‘Glitter & Ash’ searches for new territory on a journey through love-struck, mind-bending terrain.

Flickering synths adorn the underbelly of the track whilst the drums find a heavy groove allowing vocalist Charlie McConnochie to occupy the dark and thoughtful corners of our dreams and once forgotten memories. Bass lines stomp and previously patient guitar lines crack like a sudden thunderstorm as ‘Glitter & Ash’ comes into it’s own and moves into epic territory.

The Brighton band take you on a journey through your own memories, opening and shutting the door to reality with each breathtaking lyrical turn and instrumental blow. The band’s UK tour commences this coming Friday alongside the release of their highly anticipated debut record. Pop therapy indeed.
